MELBOURNE, Fla. – No. 2 Oklahoma State women's golf finished the day 8-over and in fourth place after the first 36 holes of the Columbia Classic presented by Moon Golf on Sunday.
After the first two rounds of the 54-hole tournament, five strokes separated the top-four teams. Texas Tech leads the field at 4-over followed by Virginia Tech and Illinois in second and third place.
Isabella Fierro led the Cowgirls and closed the day in second place after recording rounds of 70 and 72 to finish Sunday at 2-under. Maddison Hinson-Tolchard recorded a 70 in the first round and finished 1-over.
"It was a bit of an up and down day for us," head coach Greg Robertson said. "We had some moments where we looked really solid, but there were some things we need to clean up from a course management standpoint. We're still in a good position and looking forward to a competitive day tomorrow."
Lianna Bailey recorded another solid performance for the Cowgirls as she posted a 71 in the second round to end the day 4-over.
Clemence Martin and Rina Tatematsu made their first appearances of the spring season and closed out the first 36 holes with rounds of 75 and 79 to end the day tied for 29th and 55th respectively.
Oklahoma State returns to action at 8:30 E.T. on Monday with the final round. Score updates will be available on golfstat.com and the team's social media as they become available.
