Cowboy Tennis Sweeps Navy To Advance in NCAA Action

Chapel Hill, N.C. - The 19th-ranked Oklahoma State men's tennis team swept Navy, 4-0, on Saturday to advance to the second round of the NCAA Championship at the Chapel Hill Regional.
The Cowboys won the doubles point over Navy to start the day's scoring. Senior Mathieu Scaglia and freshman Matisse Bobichon won the first match of the contest on court three over Gavin Segraves and Sasha Panyan,6-3. Navy's Finn Garner and Jack Dabeck answered back on court two with a 7-6(7) victory over seniors Henrik Korsgaard and Luke Hammond. Senior Matej Vocel and junior Emile Hudd took care of business on court one against Derrick Thompson and Andrew Ton securing a 7-6(8) win to give OSU the advantage.
OSU won the first set on every court in singles play.
Matej Vocel caught fire in the first set and never slowed down against Andrew Ton. Vocel secured a 6-1, 6-2 straight-set victory to give OSU a 2-0 advantage in the match.
Matisse Bobichon followed suit, cruising to a 6-3, 6-3 win against Jake Fishkin. Just like clockwork, Etienne Donnet clinched the match for OSU with a straight-set 6-4, 6-1 victory over Finn Garner.
The remaining courts went unfinished when the outcome was decided. Henrik Korsgaard and Derrick Thompson stood at 6-3, 3-6, 1-1. Mathieu Scaglia was leading on court three over Jake Fishkin, 6-3, 6-5. On court six, Luke Hammond had the upper hand against Jack McBride, 7-6(6), 3-1.
The Cowboys will be back in action tomorrow at 1 p.m. (EST) as they take on North Carolina in the second round.
