Cowboy Tennis Falls to Texas Tech

Stillwater, Okla. - The 18th-ranked Oklahoma State men's tennis team came out on the short end of a 4-3 contest against Texas Tech on Saturday afternoon at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
With the loss, the Cowboys dipped to 7-8 on the year and 0-2 in Big 12 play.
OSU got off to a fast start in doubles action when Matej Vocel and Henrik Korsgaard defeated Texas Tech's Parker Wynn and Franco Ribero, 6-2. Texas Tech pulled even with Iligiz Valiev and Dimitrios Azoidis taking down Etienne Donnet and Mathieu Scalia, 6-3.
The doubles point came down to a tiebreaker on court two where Emile Hudd and Dominik Kellovsky were clipped by the Red Raider duo of Issac Arevalo and Reed Collier, who took the doubles-clinching match, 7-6(3).
The match was back and forth throughout the day. In singles play, Matej Vocel had a quick answer for the Raiders in singles defeating Parker Wynn, 6-2, 6-3, to even up the match at 1-1. Mathieu Scaglia took down Reed Collier of Texas Tech, 6-4, 6-4 to give the Cowboys the advantage.
Texas Tech would take the next two points, starting with Dimitrios Azoidis beating Dominik Kellovsky, 7-5, 6-4, followed by Illgiz Valiev defeating Emile Hudd, 7-6, 6-2. Etienne Donnet took down Texas Tech's Issac Arevalo, 5-7, 6-1, 7-5, to even the match at three apiece. Franco Ribero won a third-set tiebreaker against Henrik Korsgaard, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (10-8) to earn the match-clinching point for Texas Tech.
The Cowboys will look to get in the win column in conference play on Friday when they travel to Fort Worth to face TCU.
