Cowboy Tennis Drops Hard-Fought Match to Texas in Big 12 Semifinals

Waco, Texas - The 18th-ranked Oklahoma State men's tennis team saw its Big 12 Championship run come to an end on Sunday afternoon with a 4-1 setback against No. 2 Texas in the semifinal round of the event.
Doubles play showed it was going to be a back-and-forth battle for the entirety of the match.
Dominik Kellovsky and Henrik Korsgaard started early, securing a 6-2 win against Harper and Huang. The Longhorns answered back with a 6-4 victory courtesy of Cleeve Harper and Payton Holden.
Court one was knotted the majority of the match, before Matej Vocel and Emile Hudd eventually would prevail to give OSU the lead. The 66th-ranked duo secured a 7-6(6) win over No. 8 Siem Woldeab and Eliot Spizzirri to push the Pokes out in front, 1-0.
Texas answered back in singles action, Siem Woldeab's 6-4, 6-1 win over Henrik Korsgaard, put the Longhorns in front. Texas took the momentum onto court two where Emile Hudd fought to the finish, but fell short against Micah Braswell, 6-3, 6-1.
Mathieu Scaglia grinded to the finish before Cleeve Harper came out on top, 6-3, 7-6(2), to extend the Texas lead to 3-1.
Freshman Matisse Bobichon was quick to deal a 6-3 loss in the first set to Evin McDonald. However, McDonald would rally to take the next two sets, 6-4, 6-4.
When play was called, courts one and five were left unfinished.
Matej Vocel was leading against Eliot Spizzirri, 6-4, 3-6, 5-3. Etienne Donnet was also up on court five against Chih Chu Huang, 6-4, 7-5, 2-1.
