Cowboy Tennis Comes Up Short Against No. 6 Texas, 4-3

Austin, Texas - The 18th-ranked Oklahoma State men's tennis team closed its Texas road swing with a 4-3 loss to No. 6 Texas on Sunday afternoon in Austin, Texas.
OSU dipped to 7-10 on the year and 0-4 in Big 12 play with the loss.
The Longhorns separated themselves early in doubles play. Court one was the first to finish with Matej Vocel and Emile Hudd coming up short against No. 12 Eliot Spizzirri and Siem Woldeab, 6-2. Texas took the momentum to court three with Micah Braswell and Payton Holden securing a 6-4 win against Etienne Donnet and Mathieu Scaglia.
Dominik Kellovsky and Henrik Korsgaard went unfinished at 5-6 as they squared off with UT's Cleeve Harper and Chih Chi Huang.
OSU battled back in singles play as four Cowboys tallied first set wins on the day.
Court one was first to finish with No. 38 Matej Vocel falling to No. 23 Elliot Spizzirri, 6-2, 6-3, to push Texas out to a 2-0 overall advantage.
Just like clockwork, freshman Matisse Bobichon and senior Mathieu Scaglia answer back for the Cowboys. Bobichon gained momentum for OSU and secured a 6-3, 7-5 victory on court six against Evin McDonald. Scaglia then cruised to a straight-set victory against Cleeve Harper, 6-4, 6-2, to even the match.
The Longhorns fought back on court four with Henrik Korsgaard dropping a straight-set decision against Siem Woldeab, 7-5, 6-1, to put the Longhorns back in front. Etienne Donnet handled his business on court five, breezing to a 6-1, 7-6 victory against Chih Chi Huang to knot the score again at 3-3.
It all came down to court four with junior No. 101 Emile Hudd slated against No. 16 Micah Braswell. Hudd grabbed the first set by a 6-2 count, but Braswell stormed back to take the second, 6-1. Hudd fought down-to-the-wire, but Braswell ultimately prevailed in the tiebreaker, 7-6(5).
The Cowboys are back home for the final time on April 18 when they host in-state rival Oklahoma.
