No. 14 Cowboys Take Down Wichita State

STILLWATER - Oklahoma State's 14th-ranked men's tennis team opened its spring season at the Greenwood Tennis Center Thursday against the Wichita State Shockers. The Cowboys took the victory over the Shockers, 6-1.
ÂThe match started with Matej Vocel and Emile Hudd defeating Orel Ovil and Nicolas Acevdo, 6-2. Henrik Korsgaard and Mathieu Scaglia would also win in doubles for OSU by defeating Marius Frosa and Zach Grueber, 6-3.Â
ÂThe first singles point of the night for OSU would come from No. 86Â Henrik Korsgaard on court four as he defeated Orel Ovil in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. No. 49 Matej Vocel would also take his match in straight sets over Marius Frose, 6-1, 6-1. The winning point would come from No. 101 Emile Hudd as he knocked off Nicolas Acevedo, 6-2, 6-2.
ÂWhile the outcome was decided in three singles matches, both teams would play out the remaining matches. No. 61 Dominik Kellovsky would battle it out for three sets to take the win over Stefan Latinovic, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3. Mathieu Scaglia would drop his match to Yi Jui Lo, 2-6, 1-6.  Â
ÂTonight's win marks the 12th consecutive win for the Cowboys over the Shockers since 1997. OSU also holds an advantage in the overall series of 44-15 after the victory.Â
ÂThe Cowboys will play again tomorrow against Tulsa at 5 p.m. in Stillwater.
