Cowgirl Tennis Adds Daniella Medvedeva To 2020 Signing Class

STILLWATER - Oklahoma State women's tennis head coach Chris Young announced the signing of DaniellaMedvedeva, and international recruit from Russia that is currently playing in Spain.
"We're thrilled to have Daniellachoose Oklahoma State," said Young. "She is one of the top juniors in the world that will be entering college tennis. We expect her to have an immediate impact on our lineup."
Medvedevais an 18-year-old from Russia that is currently playing at the junior level and training in Mallorka, Spain. Her current junior ranking, which was released in October, sits at No. 131. The future Cowgirl also took an official visit to the University of Florida before deciding to sign with Oklahoma State.
"When I chose to go to college, I wanted to find a place that would replace my family and become a second family, because I think who you spend the next four or five years with is so important," said Medvedeva. "When I visited Oklahoma State, it just felt like everyone in the teams wants the best for you and everyone will help you and be there for you no matter what."
Over the last year in Spain, Medvedevahas logged a 16-5 record in singles in multiple events across the tour. Medvedevais set to join Oklahoma State in August as a freshman.
"I was truly impressed with how amazing the team relationship is at Oklahoma State, and how open, honest and great the coaches are," said Medvedeva. "I have been talking with Chris [Young] and Jaime [Sanchez] fore quite a long time, and I have to say that from the second FaceTime, I already felt those two were going to help me achieve anything I want in Tennis."
