Ballner, Anadu Pick Up 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America Honors

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's Ariane Ballner and Joshua Anadu were named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America Division I Cross Country/Track and Field teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
 
Ballner, a junior from Elmshorn, Germany, was a first-team selection and is one of 11 two-time honorees on the women's side. The management and marketing major was also one of 15 student-athletes on the women's team to be honored for having a 4.0 GPA. Ballner was an All-American in the indoor distance medley relay in 2018, was the 2018 Big 12 champion in the outdoor 1,500 meters and was a member of this year's Big 12 champion indoor distance medley relay.
 
On the men's side, Anadu was a third-team selection, the first of his career. Anadu is sophomore majoring in environmental sciences / water resources and was one of just 21 Academic All-Americans to be selected with a 4.0 GPA. The Katy, Texas, native specializes in jumps for the Cowboys.
 
Altogether, 90 NCAA student-athletes were honored by CoSIDA with Google Cloud Academic All-America status. The 15 members of the first-team men's cross country/track and field team carry an average GPA of 3.98, while the women's first team carries a 4.04 GPA.
