STILLWATER— A trio of women's performances stood out from the Oklahoma State tack and field teams' Saturday efforts.
Ryan Roane, Kaylee Dodd and the women's "A" team in the 4X400-meter relay all earned top-five performances at their respective meets.
Roane jumped for the second day in a row at the Don Kirby Elite in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She competed in the triple jump on day two of the meet and finished fourth. Her personal-best mark of 12.60m/41-4.25 was good enough to jump into the school's top five in the event and broke her previous record by almost four-tenths of a meter.
Dodd ran in the fastest heat of the 800 meters at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa. She was in the back of the pack for the first 400 meters, but came back to gain four spots to finish fourth in her heat and fifth overall. Her time of 2:06.55 was her best time of the season.
In Lubbock, Texas, at the Texas Tech Shootout, the 4x400-meter relay squad composed of Nicolette Dixon, Aaliyah Birmingham, Latriceia Smith and Amira Coleman ran the best time by a Cowgirl team this season in the event. They won their heat, thanks to Birmingham's 54.70-second split, which put them in the lead after two legs.
In the men's heptathlon, Cole Verble set a season-best mark, as he finished the competition with 4,757 points. The highlight of his Saturday came in the pole vault, where he placed second. He cleared 4.55m/14-11 for a new season best.
Natalie Manders finished fifth in the women's B section of the shot put. She threw a personal-best mark of 13.63m/44-8.75, breaking her previous best by nearly half of a meter.
The OSU track and field teams return to action on Friday when they will compete at the Arkansas Qualifier and the Alex Wilson Invitational.
