Cowgirls Remain Undefeated in Big 12 Play

STILLWATER – The No. 6 Oklahoma State equestrian team defeated No. 8 TCU, 13-6, Friday afternoon at Totusek Arena.
The Cowgirls (2-2, 2-0) got out to a strong start against TCU (2-5, 0-2) in Equitation Over Fences. They took the event, 4-1, with Abigail Brayman, Carly Barrick, Maggie Drysch and Hannah Janson scoring points for the Cowgirls. Brayman got her second MOP of the season with her 84-78 victory over Raegan Rast.
The next event was Horsemanship, and the Cowgirls continued their dominance in that discipline, taking the event, 3-1. Libby Collins, Harley Huff and Paige Kemper scored points for the Cowgirls, and they all remained undefeated on the season. Huff got her third MOP of the season with her 76-74.5 win against Josie Mootz.
Equitation on the Flat was a little bit closer, but the Cowgirls took it, 3-2. Abigail Brayman, Maggie Drysch and Kendall Pedigo scored points for the Cowgirls. It was Drysch's second win of the day.
The day ended with Reining and the Cowgirls took the event, 3-2, to sweep TCU in all four events. Stephanie Helsen, Ebba Lange and Hannah Mitchell delivered for the Cowgirls and earned points for them. Lange was named the MOP with her 71-0 win over Tessa Lindberg.
"I was very proud across the board, as there were some great rides in each event today," head coach Larry Sanchez said. "We will continue to practice hard this week to prepare for A&M next Sunday."
The Cowgirls have had TCU's number in recent meets, for this was their eighth straight victory against them.
The Cowgirls sit atop the Big 12 standings with their undefeated record in conference play. In both home meets so far this year, the Cowgirls have won easily. They have won six in a row at Totusek Arena, dating back to last year.
Next up for the Cowgirls is when No. 2 Texas A&M comes to Stillwater on Sunday Nov. 19 at 11:00 a.m.
