Cowboys Dip Into Ninth In Georgia

ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team carded a 1-under 287 during its second round at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate on Saturday to slip two spots into ninth place.
Through 36 holes, the Cowboys stand at 580, 4-over, and one shot behind Texas and Stanford for seventh place. OSU will begin Sunday's final round just six shots behind tournament leader Oklahoma, which stands at 2-under 574.
Virginia's Jimmy Stanger followed an opening 67 with a 68 to stand at 135 and two shots clear of the field in the individual race.
The Cowboys finished the day with three players inside the top 20.
Freshman Viktor Hovland posted a 70 during his second round to move into a tie for 14th place at 143.
Junior Sam Stevens matched Hovland for the squad's low round of the day to come in with a 145 total and tied for 17th place. Joining Stevens at 145 was sophomore Zach Bauchou, who posted a 74 on Saturday.
Junior Kristoffer Ventura rebounded from an opening 79 with a 73 to move into a tie for 66th pace at 152.
Junior Stratton Nolen carded a 79 during his second round to get in with a 153 total and tied for 70th place.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. (EST) and will be grouped with Texas and Stanford. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
