Five Things You Didn't Know About Tavarius Shine

STILLWATER - There's more to Oklahoma State wing Tavarius Shine than just basketball. Check out these five things you probably didn't know about the Irving, Texas, native.
Couch potato:
"My favorite hobby outside of basketball would have to be watching Netflix or playing video games. Recently what I've been watching on Netflix is Prison Break. It's a really interesting show and always keeps you on your toes when you watch it. I'm a big Call of Duty fan. I'm hands-down the best on the team. I play team death match, search and destroy, domination, and anything else."
Behind the jersey number:
"I wear the No. 5 because I had a friend that passed away when I was in high school. I switched it from No. 11 to No. 5 when I got to OSU. He passed away his senior year. I represent him and his family every game. I met him in middle school when he was a teammate of mine and then through high school until I moved."
In-game superstitions:
"I could come out in the game and not be playing well. If I'm playing bad in a pair of shoes, I will go into the locker room at halftime or any point in the game to switch those shoes out. I did it last year on the road at South Carolina after missing my first few threes."
Team nickname:
"I don't know what the meaning is exactly behind it, but it's mainly just a thing me and the teammates came up with last year. Tyree, Joe and I are all pretty goofy and when we were playing around, we gave nicknames to each other. Now everyone calls me Tito."
Most embarrassing moment:
"My most embarrassing moment while playing basketball probably had to be in high school when I was going up for a dunk. It was wide open, like by myself, during my first year of variety. I was just getting into the groove and missed this dunk bad. My leg gave out, but it was a terrible attempt. My coach didn't say much about it, but everyone on the bench fell out of their seats and collapsed busting out laughing. My mom laughing in the crowd was the worst part of it all."
