Former Cowboy Makes Second Consecutive US Open

NEW YORK - Former Oklahoma State tennis star Oleksandr Nedovyesov made his second consecutive U.S. Open appearance on Tuesday, competing against Lleyton Hewitt, at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City.
Nedovyesov, who currently holds the No. 100 spot in the ATP World Rankings, dropped the first set against the 166th-ranked Australian. After going back-and-forth in the second set, Hewitt ended up defeating the three-time Cowboy All-American, 6-0, 7-6(2).
Nedovyesov's experience in Grand Slam competition continues to build, having been to the French Open in 2014 and the US Open the last two years. The former Cowboy has compiled two career victories in Grand Slam competition, including a Round of 64 appearance at the US Open in 2014.
