MALMÖ, Sweden-- Former Oklahoma State standout Alex Norén earned his second Nordea Masters title on Sunday, posting a four-shot victory at PGA Sweden National.
Norén, who also won the tournament in 2011, carded a closing 71 to finish at 12-under 276 and four shots clear of the field. The Stockholm, Sweden native missed all but two events during the 2014 season due to tendonitis in both wrists and was competing this season on a medical extension.
The victory was the first for Norén since winning the same event four years ago. That season, he also won the Saab Wales Open. His first career European Tour victory came in 2009 at the Omega European Masters. Additionally, he has a Challenge Tour victory at the 2006 Rolex Trophy to his credit.
Entering his final round with a two-shot lead, Norén birdied the opening hole before carding a bogey at the second to see his lead cut in half. He followed with 15 consecutive pars before closing in style with a birdie at the par-5 18th hole.
