STILLWATER -- Oklahoma State basketball signee Jawun Evans added another honor to his impressive resume when he was one of 30 players nationwide named to the Parade All-America team.
Ranked by ESPN as the No. 6 point guard in the country and the nation's No. 33 player overall, Evans was the only Texan invited to play in the McDonald's All-America Game, where he tallied six points, five rebounds and four assists in a 111-91 win for the East squad.
Evans averaged 23.3 points, 7.5 assists and 7.3 rebounds per game last year for Kimball High School, and was named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class 5A All-State team.
Dating back to 1957, the Parade All-American Basketball teams list is the longest ongoing selection of high school basketball All-Americans in the country. Previous honorees include hundreds of NBA stars, among them Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.
