Dieringer Named Finalist for Hodge Trophy, Fan Voting Open

STILLWATER - Oklahoma State wrestling standout Alex Dieringer was named one of four finalists for the 2015 Hodge Trophy presented by Asics. This marks the second year Dieringer has been up for the award.
Dieringer is fresh off winning his second-consecutive NCAA title, defeating No. 6 Taylor Walsh of Indiana, 14-7, in the 165-pound final. His national championship victory was also his 100th career win. On the season, the junior went 33-0 with 27 bonus-point wins, including 12 major decisions, 11 falls and 4 technical falls.
For the third straight year, fans are being asked to help select the winner from the four finalists. The winner will be announced on Monday, March 30. The winner of the fan vote will earn two first-place votes among the total ballots from a group of formal voters which includes each former Hodge Trophy winner, national media, representatives of national wrestling organizations and retired former college coaches from different regions.

The Hodge Trophy, named after Dan Hodge, is the top award in college wrestling and has been presented annually since 1994 to the nation's most dominant collegiate wrestler.
