MANHATTAN, Kansas – Larry Sanchez's No. 6-ranked Oklahoma State Cowgirls handily defeated Kansas State, 13-7 on Friday.
"I am very proud of our team today," Sanchez said. "They rode extremely well, particularly our hunt seat riders."
The Cowgirls dominated Hunterseat competition, 8-2.
Maggie Drysch (Fences) and Kendall Pedigo (Flat) were awarded with Most Outstanding Player honors in the meet for the Hunterseat events.
Drysch finished with a meet-high 85 individual score in Equitation over Fences.
Drysch, Carly Barrick (82), All-American Jorden Davis (83) and Katie Jones (81) were all victorious in Equitation over Fences.
Equitation on the Flat went similarly well, as Pedigo (80), Drysch (70), Davis (82) and Barrick (78) all contributed triumphs for the Cowgirls.
Barrick's two victories continued her hot start to the season, making her 4-0 across all events.
Miranda Reed (74) and Elizabeth Collins (72.5) posted wins in Horsemanship for Oklahoma State.
Reed's efforts earned Most Outstanding Player honors in Horsemanship.
Ebba Lange (72.5), Erin Willoughby (70.5) and All-American Justine Peters (66.5) all came away with individual victories in Reining.
The Cowgirls finished 3-2 in Reining and 2-3 in Horsemanship, making the Western score 5-5.
