November 13, 2014 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
STILLWATER, Okla. -
The Oklahoma State men's and women's 2014-15 indoor track and field schedule has been released, head coach Dave Smith announced Thursday.
Both squads will begin their respective seasons on Dec. 13, when OSU makes the trip to Manhattan, Kan., for the K-State Winter Invitational. The meet will mark Oklahoma State's lone appearance of the fall semester.
Upon conclusion of winter break, the Cowboys and Cowgirls will head north to Lincoln, Neb., for the Holiday Inn Invitational on Jan. 16 and 17. The following weekend, Oklahoma State returns to Manhattan for the DeLoss Dodds Invitational, set to begin on Jan. 23.
OSU will wrap up the month of January with an appearance at the Arkansas Team Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., where both squads found success last season. At the 2014 meet, multiple Cowboys and Cowgirls took home first-place finishes, including Kirubel Erassa (3,000 meter invitational), Nick Miller (weight throw), and Savannah Camacho (800 meter invitational).
In February, Oklahoma State will send members of the track and field program to nine separate meets, beginning with the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite (Lincoln, Neb.) and the New Mexico Classic (Albuquerque, N.M.) on Feb. 6. A week later, OSU will split its squads and travel to the Husky Classic (Seattle, Wash.), Don Kirby Collegiate Elite Invitational (Albuquerque, N.M.), Tyson Invitational (Fayetteville, Ark.) and the Iowa State Invitational (Ames, Iowa). To wrap up regular-season competition, Oklahoma State will compete at the Alex Wilson Invitational in South Bend, Ind., and the KSU Invitational in Manhattan, Kan., on Feb. 20 and 21.
After collecting their first indoor team conference title in school history last year, the Cowboys will look to replicate their success at 2015 Big 12 Indoor Track & Field Championships, set to begin on Feb. 27 in Ames, Iowa. Two weeks after the conference meet, both squads will conclude the indoor season at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.
