DALLAS - Oklahoma State's women's golf team used a 296 during its third round on Sunday to earn its second victory of the year, finishing first at the SMU Dallas Athletic Club Invitational.
The Cowgirls finished the tournament with a 32-over total of 896, giving them a five-shot cushion over Oklahoma at the par-72, 6,301-yard layout. The win was OSU's first since closing out the fall with a victory at the Landfall Tradition.
Julie Yang made it a clean sweep for OSU, rolling to a seven-stroke victory after closing with a 72. In just her fifth career start, the freshman finished at 6-under 210 and was the only player in the field to break par for the event.
Yang stood at 2-over par through seven holes, but rallied with birdies at the ninth and 10th to move back to level par for the day. After a bogey at the 12th, Yang birdied two of her next three holes to move under par before closing with a bogey to finish at even for her round.
Junior Jayde Panos joined her teammate in the top 10, posting a 75 to finish at 228 and tied for 10th place.
Senior Kelsey Vines tied for 16th after an 80 during her final round gave her a 54-hole total of 228.
Junior Josephine Janson's 75 tied her for 26th place at 234, while sophomore Courtney Ferguson finished in a tie for 38th place after signing for a 74, her low round of the event, to come in with a 240 total.
Junior Lauren Falley competed in the tournament as an individual and tied for 49th place at 244 after posting her second consecutive 83.
The Cowgirls will return to action on April 19 when they begin play at the Big 12 Championship in Ames, Iowa.
