Cowgirls In Fifth At Bruin Wave Invite

TARZANA, Calif. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team posted a two-round total of 616 on Monday at the Bruin Wave Invitational to stand in fifth place at El Caballero Country Club.
Playing without the services of the top-ranked player in the country in senior Kelsey Vines, the Cowgirls' 40-over total put them five shots behind Pepperdine for fourth place. UCLA built an eight-shot lead at the par-72, 6,131-yard layout with a 583 total.
The Bruins also produced the individual leader after the first day in Lee Lopez, who finished as the only player under par at 2-under 142.
A pair of Cowgirls wrapped up the day tied for 15th place as junior Josephine Janson and freshman Julie Yang each carded 7-over totals of 151. Janson signed for rounds of 77 and 74, while Yang posted rounds of 75 and 76.
Junior Jayde Panos opened with a 74 before adding a 79 during the afternoon round to finish at 153 and tied for 19th place.
Juniors Lauren Falley added rounds of 81 and 84 for a 165 total to come in tied for 63rd place.
Freshman Megan Blonien rounded out the starting five with a 166 total that included rounds of 86 and 80 to stand in a tie for 65th place.
The Cowgirls will wrap up the event tomorrow at 8:20 (PST) and will be grouped with Pepperdine and Oregon State.
