Cowboys Jump 10 Spots to Enter Top 25
January 29, 2013 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
Only Texas and Kansas State from the Big 12 are ahead of the Cowboys in this week's rankings. The OSU women are unranked as a team.
Cowboys Tom Farrell, Kirubel Erassa, Fabian Clarkson and Shane Moskowitz all surged in the national rankings in the mile after their showing in Fayetteville, with Farrell third nationally at 3:58.20, Erassa fourth nationally at 3:58.24, Clarkson seventh nationally at 3:59.47 and Moskowitz eighth nationally at 3:59.48.
Nick Miller is third nationally after recording a 20.81m/68-3.25 in the weight throw at the Razorback Invitational.
"It's an exciting time for our program," said OSU head coach Dave Smith. "We're climbing the rankings but we're not done yet. I think we still have some big performances to come in the next two weeks."
On the women's side, Natalja Piliusina is third nationally in the 800 meters this week with a 2:04.35, though her all-time personal best mark of 2:03.46 is the fastest among all active collegiate runners.
