Cowgirls Finish Second At BYU at Entrada Classic

ST. GEORGE, Utah - Oklahoma State's women's golf team closed out play on Tuesday at the BYU at Entrada Classic with a 288 to finish in second place at Entrada at Snow Canyon.
The Cowgirls' even-par score was the low round of the day and gave them a 54-hole total of 900, 36-over par. Texas State claimed the team title after closing with a 292 to finish at 892 at the par-72, 6,062-yard layout.
All five players in the OSU lineup earned top-20 finishes with Kelsey Vines leading the way with her second victory as a Cowgirl. She posted a closing round of 70 to finish at 219 and three shots clear of the field. Last fall, the BYU transfer earned her first victory at the Windy City Collegiate.
The junior got off to a quick start with birdies on two of her first three holes. After a bogey at the fourth, Vines used a birdie at the seventh to make the turn at 2-under 34. She moved to 3-under for the day with a birdie at the 11th, but gave two strokes back with a double bogey at the 12th. Vines carded her fifth and final birdie of the day at the 17th to get to her 2-under total.
Sophomore Amy Ruengmateekhun earned a top-10 finish as well, tying for sixth place at 225 after carding a 72.
Sophomore Jayde Panos' closing 73 gave her a 231 total and tied her for 17th place with senior teammate Jocelyn Alford, who posted a 76 during her final round.
Sophomore Josephine Janson posted her low round of the event with a 73 to finish at 233 and tied for 19th place.
The Cowgirls will resume their spring slate on March 30 at the Ping/ASU Invitational.
