College Station, Texas -- Oklahoma State's 16th-ranked softball team lost for the third-straight game, the Cowgirls' longest losing streak of the season, as OSU fell to 22nd-ranked Texas A&M 7-3 here Sunday afternoon at the Aggie Softball Complex.

The Cowgirls took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. Mariah Gearhart led off the frame with a hit-by-pitch, her NCAA record 86th career HBP. Two batters later, Alysia Hamilton's double off the fence in centerfield scored Gearhart. Chelsea Garcia reached on an error, and a walk by Tamara Brown loaded the bases. Aggie pitcher Melissa Dumezich threw a pitch over the catcher's head, scoring Hamilton on a wild pitch.

Texas A&M cut the lead in half with a solo home run by Kelsey Spittler in the bottom of the second. Ashley Boyd responded with a solo shot of her own with two outs in the top of the third, making the score 3-1 Oklahoma State.

Cassie Tysarczyk led off the bottom of the third with a home run for A&M, making the score 3-2. The flood gates opened in the bottom of the fourth as the Aggies scored five runs on three hits, including a three-run bomb by Rhiannon Kliesing. Cowgirl starter Simone Freeman gave up a walk, a fielder's choice, a hit-by-pitch and a single, leaving the game with the bases loaded. Senior Sarah Odom came on in relief, giving up a base hit and Kliesing's homer before ending the inning and OSU in a 7-3 hole.

The Cowgirls attempted a rally in the seventh as Ari Morrison and Hamilton led off the inning with back-to-back singles. However, Dumezich forced Garcia to ground into a double play and Julie Ward flew out to end the game.

Oklahoma State (37-14 overall, 8-7 Big 12) will host the ninth-ranked Missouri Tigers on Wedensday, May 11, at 1 pm at the Cowgirl Softball Complex in a makeup game that was rained out on May 1. Admission is free.
