OSU Students Have New Ticket Option
March 27, 2009 | Cowboy Football
The Oklahoma State University Department of Athletics has announced that a new student ticket option will be in place for the 2009-2010 academic year, and it is available for immediate purchase.
Oklahoma State students now have the ability to purchase a new “combo” ticket that allows them to buy football and men's basketball tickets for a total of $330. The new ticket option will save OSU students $84 (more than 20 percent) off of last year's prices, despite the addition of an eighth home football game.
Because of seating in Gallagher-Iba Arena, only a limited number of the combo tickets can be sold.
“Students create the atmosphere at our athletic events and play a big part in the success of our teams,” said OSU Director of Athletics Mike Holder. “ Students who attend football and basketball games are more likely to purchase season tickets after graduation and stay connected to the university. Given the tough economic times, the athletic department is making a concerted effort to make games more affordable and grow student attendance.”
The Cowboy football team, which has already been listed among the nation's top 10 in six preseason polls, will host Georgia, Texas, Missouri, Texas Tech and Colorado, among others, next season. The Cowboys were 9-4 in 2008 and made their first Holiday Bowl appearance since 1988. The 2008 season also marked the first time in school history that Oklahoma State has appeared in six bowl games over seven years.
The Cowboy basketball team is coming off its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2005. OSU was ousted in the second round of the 2009 tournament by top-seed Pittsburgh. The OSU men have one of the nation's top recruiting classes heading to Stillwater. While the 2009-2010 basketball schedule is not yet finalized, OSU is expected to play approximately 17 home games.
To purchase the new combo ticket, OSU students should complete the ticket request form and return it to the OSU ticket office. Students can obtain the form by visiting , stopping by the Athletics Center ticket office, or calling the OSU ticket office at 1-877-ALL-4-OSU.
Students can also request the form by sending an email to tickets@okstate.edu. The completed form can also be faxed to the ticket at office at 405-744-5538.
