STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team has announced the signing of a pair of players to National Letters of Intent as Josephine Janson and Jade Staggs both inked with the Cowgirls.
A native of Halmstad, Sweden, Janson has competed in three AJGA events, finishing in the top 30 at the Thunderbird International in 2008 and 2009. This past summer, she advanced to the match play bracket at the Girls' British Open Amateur Championship. Janson was also a part of Sweden's victorious squad at the 2008 European Girls' Team Championship.
"Josephine is a top-notch player out of Europe and someone that can have a tremendous impact on our program," OSU head coach Annie Young said.
Staggs, an Oklahoma City, Okla., native, has had five top-15 finishes over the past two years on the AJGA circuit, including a third-place showing at the 2009 Under Armour/Hunter Mahan Championship. She also finished third this past spring at the Oklahoma Class 6A state championship and won the WOGA Hall of Fame Junior Girls Championship this past summer.
"Jade is the best player in the state of Oklahoma and will be a great addition to our team," Young said.
