Cowboy Track saddles up for J.D. Martin Invite

Cowboy Up
The Cowboy track team will be sending 15 runners to the J.D. Martin Invitational. OSU's lineup will consist of two seniors, three juniors, four sophomores and six freshmen.
Last Time Out
During the Razorback Invitational on Jan.26 the Cowboys set 13 new personal-best records in the 3000-meter, 800-meter and mile run. In the 3000-meter run Johnathan Stublaski finished third with a time 8:28.25, Ryan Little took fourth place, finished with a time of 8:32.04, Josh Mathis came in with a time of 8:35.58 to finish in sixth place and Clay Mayes rounded out the top 10 in eighth place with a finishing time of 8:38.92.
In section two of the men's 800-meter run, Cowboys Brad McNiff was the runner-up and only one second out of first with a a time of 1:56.44. Brian Downey finished with a time of 1:57.30 to take fourth place. Section three, of the men's 800-meter run saw three Cowboys perform well with Peter Doroshuk taking third place with a time of 1:58.88, Paul Burke finishing in fifth place with a time of 1:59.21 and Jerhoemee Murray finishing with a time of 2:05.21, taking 11th place.
In the men's 400-meter dash, Cowboy Daniel Storts finished in 48th place with a time of 51.08 and Ryan Caldwell took 58th place with a time of 53.29. In the mile run Daniel Watts set a new personal best with a time of 4:13.96 to finish in ninth place.
Other Cowboys setting records in the mile run were Brian Gosnell, who finished in 12th place with a time of 4:14.84 and Sean Fleming with a time of 4:22.30 tom come in 19th. Also in the mile run, David Jankowski finished in 20th place with a time of 4:23.58. To end the day, the men's mile run championship featured Cowboys Ryan Vail and David Chirchir. Vail clocked in with a seventh-place showing with a time of 4:06:67 and Chirchir finished in ninth with a time of 4:09.89.

Starting at 12:40 p.m. Cowboys Matt Barnes-Smith, Sean Fleming, David Jankowski, Ryan Little, Josh Mathis, Alejandro Ruiz and Peter Wood will line up for the mile run. Shortly after 2 p.m., Peter Doroshuk, Bryan Downey, Brad McNiff, Jerhoemee Murray and Johnathan Stublaski will compete in the 1000-meter run.
