Cowboys fall to Texas Tech in overtime, 92-90

Oklahoma State's Mario Boggan recorded a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds, but the Cowboys committed 21 turnovers and fell to Texas Tech 92-90 in overtime Saturday afternoon here in the United Spirit Arena.
OSU led by three at 79-76 with eight seconds remaining. After a timeout, the Cowboys attempted to foul Jarrius Jackson. The foul by Jamaal Brown went uncalled, and Jackson hit a three pointer with three seconds remaining to send the game into overtime.
Texas Tech opened the game with five points before JamesOn Curry hit a three pointer two minutes in. The Pokes scored the next eight points and took an 11-5 lead. The Cowboys led by as many as seven in the first period, but eventually entered the lockerroom with a 35-34 lead.
Oklahoma State increased its lead to eight 2-1/2 minutes into the second stanza, and the Cowboys lead bounced back and forth between five and eight points until the Red Raiders tied the game up at 55-55 with just over 10 minutes to play. After the seventh tie of the game at 65-65 with six minutes remaining, Tech went on a 7-0 run, including five by Jackson. The Cowboys answered with a full-court press and scored eight-straight points to take the lead.
OSU took a three-point lead on a tip-in by David Monds, and again with eight seconds remaining on a pair of good free throws by Torre Johnson before Jackson's prayer.
Oklahoma State moved to 12-8 overall this season and 2-4 in Big 12 Conference action. The Cowboys will host Nebraska on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m. inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
