Cowgirl senior Linda Faltynkova played through an injured toe, coming from behind to defeat Rice's Blair Disesa 6-3, (3-6), 7-6 (8-6) at the No. 1 singles position.
The Lady Owls tied the match after Lauren Archer defeated Kate Vasylyeva in the No. 2 position, 6-4, 6-3.
OSU responded by winning the next three singles matches, starting with Katya Kolodynska defeating Jeri Gonzales at the No. 3 position, 6-2, 7-5.
Newcomer Ewa Radzikowska followed suit by defeating Karen Chao in straight sets at the No. 4 position, 6-2, 6-3.
Sophomore Ines Furtmayr held an early lead to defeat Yasmin Fisher, 6-3, (3-6), 6-4 in the No. 5 singles slot.
Rounding out singles competition, Rice's Erica Villalobos defeated Zana Masnic, 6-0, 6-2.
The Cowgirls took the 4-2 lead into doubles competition.
Due to injury, Faltynkova and Kolodynska did not compete in doubles action. The senior team of Erin Pauchnik and Gorana Marsic were bumped up to the No. 1 doubles position, where they were defeated by the team of Archer and Disesa, 9-8 (8-6).
Radzikowska and Vasylyeva dominated Rice's Gonzales and Chao in the No. 2 doubles slot, 8-3.
Rounding out the days play, the Lady Owl team of Villalobos and Fisher defeated the team of Furtmayr and Masnic in the No. 3 position, 8-6.
The win marked the third for the Cowgirls on the year, as well as career win number 200 for head coach Julius Lubicz-Majewski.
Oklahoma State's women's tennis team will next prepare to take on the Colorado Buffaloes in Boulder, Colo. at the Harvest House Indoor Courts at 6:00 p.m. on Feb. 15.
