COWGIRLS TO COMPETE IN RED DESERT CLASSIC
Oklahoma State (6-6) travels to St. George, Utah, this weekend to compete in the Red Desert Classic, hosted by the University of Utah. Other teams competing in the tournament are the Big 12's Nebraska and Missouri, Stanford and Washington of the Pac-10, Utah, Utah State, Southern Utah, Brigham Young and UC-Santa Barbara. OSU will play Stanford (noon) and Utah State (2 p.m.) on Friday, March 2, Utah (noon) and BYU (2 p.m.) on Saturday, March 3, and UC-Santa Barbara (11 a.m.) on Sunday, March 4. It is OSU's second year to compete in the tournament. The Cowgirls finished 2-3 last year.
COMING UP
Oklahoma State will travel to Tampa, Fla., next week to compete in the Speedline Invitational, hosted by the University of South Florida. The tournament begins on Thursday and concludes on Sunday. The Cowgirls will play Florida International, Illinois-Chicago, Florida A&M, Central Michigan and Maryland before competing in bracket play on Saturday night and Sunday. Following the final tournament of the regular season, OSU will host the Oklahoma City Chiefs on Thursday, March 15, at 3 p.m.
HAYES NAMED BIG 12 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cowgirl senior Amanda Hayes was named the Big 12 Conference's Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 25. A senior leftfielder >from Clyde, Texas, Hayes had a .571 batting average for the week, going 4-of-7 in a rain-shortened weekend against Mississippi and Southwest Missouri State in Stillwater. In the 6-0 victory over Ole Miss, she hit a three-run, bases-loaded double to insure the victory. In the two victories, Hayes had four RBIs, two stolen bases, an on-base percentage of .625 and a .714 slugging percentage.

Lauren Bay - The sophomore pitcher has a 0.31 earned run average in four appearances over the last six games. She has started two games, and has a complete-game shutout. She has given up two runs, one earned, in 22-1/3 innings pitched. She also has 28 strikeouts and just six walks. She is 2-1 in those games. At the plate, she is batting .500, going 5-for-10. She has four walks in that span, upping her on-base percentage to .643.
Amanda Hayes - The senior outfielder is batting .421 over the last six games, going 8-for-19. She has two doubles and a home run, leading to a .684 slugging percentage. She has four runs and six RBIs. She is 3-of-3 on stolen bases.
Jade Lindly - The freshman outfielder is batting .412 with seven hits in 17 at-bats. She has one double, two runs and three runs batted in. She also has a .471 slugging percentage.
Ryan Realmuto - The sophomore catcher is batting .421 over the last six games with eight hits in 19 at-bats. She has three doubles, upping her slugging percentage to .579. She has four runs batted in, and is perfect in 41 fielding opportunities.
Danielle Thomas - The freshman centerfielder is batting .500 over the last six games, going 4-for-8. She has a 1.000 slugging percentage with a double and a home run. She has scored three runs and has one RBI. She has a .636 on-base percentage with three walks, and is 2-of-3 on stolen-base attempts.
MISCELLANEOUS NOTES
Freshman Jade Lindly leads the team in two-out RBIs with four, while both Amanda Hayes and Ryan Realmuto each have three ... OSU is batting .417 vs. lefthanded pitchers, but just .272 vs. righthanded pitchers ... Sophomore LHP Lauren Bay is averaging 8.3 strikeouts per game, while freshman RHP Tiffany Paper is averaging seven K's per contest ... Sophomore Lauren Bay is currently on a six-game hitting streak, the longest of the season for any Cowgirl ... Five defensive positions have been started by the same player in all 12 games (catcher, first base, third base, shortstop and left field) ... The same can be said for four spots in the lineup (2nd - Kipp, 3rd - Hayes, cleanup - Realmuto, 9th - O'Neill).
