Women's Tennis Closes Regular Season With Win

STILLWATER, Okla. -- The 48th-ranked Oklahoma State women's tennis team collected their seventh conference win on Friday with a decisive 8-1 victory over the University of Colorado at the DuBois Tennis Center.
The Cowgirls, 16-4 overall and 8-3 in the Big 12, won all six singles matches. Freshmen Linda Faltynkova led the way with a 6-3, 6-2 win over CU's Nadine Kenzelmann, bringing her record to 18-2. On the season, Faltynkova has won 15 of her 18 matches in straight sets.
Senior Marketa Chmelova improved to 14-5 on the year after edging CU's Suzanne Bjorkman. Chmelova was down 5-2 in the third set and fought off a match point to close out her OSU career on a winning note.
Faltynkova and Chmelova continued to dominate the courts in doubles play with a solid victory over Buffaloes Nadine Kenzelmann and Maka Berzins. The victory brought Faltynkova and Chmelova `s record to 12-6.
Cowgirls will travel to Kansas City on April 27 for the Big 12 Tournament.
