Cowboy Harriers Finish Second at Big 12 Championship

STILLWATER, Okla. -- Oklahoma State's 11th-ranked men's cross country finished second at the Big 12 Championship on Saturday behind five-time conference champion Colorado.
Three Cowboys finished in the top 20 among some of the best runners in the conference.
Newcomer Johan Bergstrom was the first Cowboy to cross the line with a time of 25:27 and an eighth-place finish. Colorado's Jorge Torres won the race with a time of 24:48.
Junior Vasquez, a Cowboy senior, crossed the line with a time of 25:31 and a 10th-place finish. Freshman Jason Woolhouse capped the Cowboys' top-20 finishes with a time of 25:49 and an 18th-place finish.
A time of 26:00 gave OSU's Jerry Rainey a 23rd-place finish. Bruce Wright and Ben Lake finished in the 26th and 27th positions with times of 26:04 and 26:06. Gregory Rouault placed 32nd with a time of 26:14. Trey Vernon crossed the line at 26:22 and in 37th-place and not far behind was Cowboy Matt Hart with a 42nd-place finish and a time of 26:31.
Next week, OSU has a bye-week to prepare fro the District V meet in Cedar Falls, Iowa on Nov. 11.
