Hall of Fame Block Party Cowboy BBQ Cook-Off
Calling all BBQ Enthusiast!!!
Oklahoma State Athletics is hosting the inaugural Cowboy BBQ Cook off at the Hall of Fame Block Party on Saturday September 28th before the OSU-Kansas State football game. We are looking for seven teams to cook beef ribs and seven teams to cook pork butt. Competitors will be chosen by a first come first serve basis. General Details
CATEGORIES
- Beef ribs- 7 teams will cook their best version of beef ribs.
- Pork butt- 7 teams will cook their best version of pork butt.
- Each team will be expected to provide enough meat for 5 judges to sample. Teams can provide samples for the general public to taste if they desire.
LOGISTICS
- Teams will be asked to bring their cookers to the designated area on Hall of Fame Road Friday night September 27th from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Exceptions can be made on case by case basis.
- The earliest smokers that are transported by vehicle can leave the BBQ area is fifteen minutes after kickoff.
- All BBQing for the contest will need to be done in the designated areas for the contest.
- Due to the no re-entry policy for Cowboy football games once you enter the game you will not be able to go back to the cooking area to check on your smoker.
- All cookers will need to be pulled out of the BBQ area no later than three hours after the completion of the game.
- All BBQ that will be judged will need to be completed 1 hour prior to the start of the game.
- A picture of the smoker will need to be submitted along with the dimensions to dustin.ponthieux@okstate.edu. (We ask that smokers do not have other schools colors or logos on them)
PRIZES
- Championship belts will go to the first place teams in each category.
- Trophies will go to the second place teams in each category.
- The winning team of each category will be recognized during the football game Vs. Kansas State.
- The winning team of each category will be presented with two tickets to the OSU Vs. Kansas football game including two pregame hospitality tickets (includes food & beverages) thanks to Cowboy Sports Properties.
