Coach Dave Smith
On the history of the Cowboy Jamboree

"It's a big meet, it's been around forever. Some of the best runners to come through the NCAA have run on this course. Guys that were Olympians have run on this course. Some very good runners have come through here."

On the women's teams competing at the Cowboy Jamboree
"Texas Tech is coming and if they run their best, they are a very good team. Northern Arizona is very good. Alabama is good too. The girls are going to get some good competition. We're resting some athletes, but they will be ready to run by the time we get to the Big 12 Championships."

Cowgirl junior Mihaela Susa
On what the Cowboy Jamboree means to the athletes
"This is the second time I've run this race, and I think our course has shown it is pretty hard. It is one of the hardest courses in the country."

On running in front of a home crowd
"I think I will be a little more nervous, but I don't think it will change my race. I try my best every race, but I will be more nervous before. Of course, I want to do well. Even people that don't know I'm a runner will see me running."
