June 4, 2014

The Oklahoma State men’s and women’s tennis teams both finished the 2014 dual match season with multiple members in the year’s final individual rankings released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Wednesday.

After reaching the semifinals of last week’s NCAA Doubles Championships, the Cowboys’ Arjun Kadhe and Jakob Sude closed out the season at No. 8 in the doubles rankings, marking the highest year-end finish in program history. The All-American Cowboy duo finished the year with a 15-3 record and earned the title of Big 12 No. 1 Doubles Champions.

On the women’s side, freshman Viktoriya Lushkova finished her 2014 campaign at No. 37 in the singles polls, the highest thus far in her collegiate career. Lushkova reached the NCAA Singles Championships’ Round of 16, helping her finish the year as the seventh-highest ranked freshman in the country.

Jakob Sude (No. 89), Sebastian Sachs (No. 117) and Arjun Kadhe (No. 124) also finished the season in the singles rankings, marking the Cowboys’ first time to finish the season with three players in the singles polls.

Cowgirl senior Kanyapat Narattana finished an illustrious doubles career with two spots in the doubles rankings, coming in at No. 70 with Lushkova and No. 79 with teammate Carla Tur Mari. Narattana completed her career with 73 career doubles wins, giving her the sixth-most doubles wins by a Cowgirl in the Big 12 era.
