STILLWATER - Three Oklahoma State women's tennis players were recognized on Tuesday as the Big 12 Conference announced its 2014 All-Big 12 tennis teams and postseason awards as selected by the league's head coaches.
Freshmen Viktoriya Lushkova and Megan McCray each picked up All-Big 12 singles honors. Lushkova was impressive in the No. 1 spot for the Cowgirls this season, notching a 16-4 record in her first semester at Oklahoma State. McCray has posted 23 singles wins for the Cowgirls this season, marking the fourth-highest win total for a freshman Cowgirl in the Big 12 era.
Lushkova and senior Kanyapat Narattana were named All-Big 12 in doubles after the tandem turned in a 13-2 mark in the No. 1 doubles spot for the Cowgirls. This is the second-straight season that Narattana was named All-Big 12 in doubles. The senior earned recognition last year with former Cowgirl Malika Rose.
Along with All-Big 12, Lushkova was also named Big 12 Freshman of the Year. She became the first Cowgirl to earn the award.
The Cowgirls will be back in action when they travel to Gainesville, Fla., to take on South Florida in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, May 9, at 11 a.m. CT.
