Cowgirl Netters Lose in Semifinals of the Big 12 Championships




Oklahoma State’s run at the 2007 Big 12 Women’s Tennis Championship was ended Saturday by No. 15 Baylor, 4-0, in the semifinals at the Plaza Tennis Center in Kansas City.

 

The loss drops the Cowgirls to 17-8 while the Baylor Bears move to 21-6.

 

The Bears got off to a good start by winning at No. 1 and 3 doubles to take the early, 1-0, lead.

 

Once singles play started, Baylor got wins at No. 1, 3 and 6 singles to complete the 4-0 shutout. For the Cowgirls, Yawna Allen and Lauren Simmons won their first set at No. 2 and 4 singles, respectively, before play was halted.
