Cowgirls Fall to Texas Tech in First Road Match of the Weekend, 5-2

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Cowgirl tennis team lost its second Big 12 match of the season, 5-2, against Texas Tech on Friday.

The 22nd-ranked Raiders (14-3, 4-0 Big 12) swept the No. 42 Cowgirls (10-5, 4-2 Big 12) in doubles. Their momentum only increased as the Raiders took four of the six singles matches.

Oklahoma State’s two points came from a 6-7, 6-3, 1-0 win from Malika Rose over Samantha Adams at No. 2 and 7-6, 7-4 win from Meghan Blevins over No. 107 Rashmi Teltumbde.

“Our top three competed well and gave us a chance,” coach Chris Young said. “We needed more against a strong Tech team.”

The Cowgirls will face No. 11 Baylor on Sunday in Waco, Texas.
