Cowgirl Softball Hosts Central Arkansas Bears

STILLWATER, Okla. —Oklahoma State’s softball team will host the Central Arkansas Bears on Wednesday evening at Cowgirl Stadium. First pitch is slated for 7 p.m.

OSU (19-18, 3-3) and UCA (2-31, 0-17) have faced each other only one other time and the Cowgirls took that game. They defeated the Bears 2-1 in Stillwater last year.

This past weekend, the Cowgirls split a weekend series with the University of Texas, winning 8-1 on Saturday and losing 9-2 on Sunday. Freshman Mariah Gearhart and junior Heather Kim led the Cowgirls at the plate. Gearhart went 3-for-5 over the weekend and scored three runs. Kim went 3-for-6 and had three RBI’s including the only two in Sunday’s game.

All three Oklahoma State pitchers saw action against Texas. Sophomore Anna Whiddon threw a complete game on Saturday giving up six hits for only one run and struck out five. Freshman Amanda Crabtree threw in her first game in over two weeks on Sunday. She gave up five hits for four earned runs and struck out three in 3.2 innings. Sarah Odom took over in the fourth and threw rest of the game giving up six hits for four runs and one strikeout.

Cowgirls will play the Bears on Wednesday and Wichita State on Thursday evening before returning to Big 12 play this weekend when they host the Iowa State Cyclones.
