OSU Travels to Tulsa to Face the Golden Hurricane

STILLWATER, Okla. — The Oklahoma State softball team will travel to Tulsa on Wednesday to play the Golden Hurricane for the second time this year. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m. PLEASE NOTE: This is a change from the original start time of 7 p.m. due to inclement weather.


The Cowgirls are 25-6 and 2-0 in Big 12 play this season and are batting .287 as a team, with six players batting .300 or better. Sophomore Mariah Gearhart leads the team with a .364 average and 31 runs scored. She also leads in stolen bases with 22. The Cowgirl pitching staff is second in the Big 12 with a 1.51 earned run average. Junior Anna Whiddon leads OSU with a 1.21 ERA and a 12-4 record. She also has 102 strikeouts, 10 complete games and eight shutouts.


TU is 20-9 overall, 6-1 in Conference USA this season and are being led offensively by Lauren Lindsey. The junior is batting .389 with 35 hits, including eight doubles and seven home runs, as well as 22 runs batted in. The leading pitcher for the Golden Hurricane is junior Jackie Lawrence who has a 9-2 record, a 1.68 ERA and 73 strikeouts.


Oklahoma State is 23-8 all time against TU including a 3-0 win in Stillwater on March 10th. The Cowgirls are 5-4 when playing in Tulsa.
