STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oklahoma State softball team returns to action this weekend as the Cowgirls host the 2013 Mizuno Classic at the Cowgirl Softball Complex in Stillwater. Games will begin Friday at 11 a.m. with Cleveland State (3-6) vs Santa Clara (2-12), followed by Northern Iowa (7-13) vs Cleveland State at 1:30 p.m. The Cowgirls (7-12) will open their weekend schedule on Friday at 4:30 p.m. against Santa Clara and play again at 7 p.m. against Northern Iowa. OSU is 1-0 against Santa Clara with their only meeting coming in 2003 in a tournament in Honolulu, Hawaii, with the Cowgirls beating the Broncos 11-1. The Cowgirls are 8-0 all-time against Northern Iowa, with their last meeting coming in the 2011 Mizuno Classic.
The next two games on Saturday will be based on the team seeding through the first six games. Seeds two and three will play at 4:30 p.m. and seeds one and four will play at 7 p.m. On Sunday, the consolation game will being at 9 a.m. with the championship game at 11 a.m. The Cowgirls will then play another game against Santa Clara at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
