TULSA, Okla. - The Oklahoma State softball team fell, 5-1, at No. 19/21 Tulsa Wednesday at the Collins Family Softball Complex. Tulsa (16-5) got on board first in the bottom of the third inning when the Golden Hurricane scoredthree runs on a pair of hits, including a double by Jill Barrett. The Cowgirls cut into Tulsa's lead when junior Tarah Ettinger hit her third home run of the season in the fourth inning, which accounted for the only OSU run of the game. Tulsa added a pair of runs in the fourth on a triple by Samantha Cobb and a double by Lacey Middlebrooks, giving the Hurricane a 5-1 and the eventual final score. Senior Amy Graham went 2-for-3 to lead OSU offensively. Senior starter Kat Espinosa took the loss and fell to 2-6. Espinosa gave up five runs on nine hits in four innings of work. She also had five strikeouts in the losing cause. Reliever Simone Freeman pitched the final two innings for OSU. Freeman shut down the Golden Hurricane, not allowing a run as she gave up just one hit and struck out one. The Cowgirls (7-12) return home this weekend to host the Mizuno Classic at Cowgirl Stadium. Games are slated to begin Friday at 11 a.m. CT.
