KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Oklahoma State senior Megan Marchesano has been named to the 2012 NSCAA Scholar All-America Third Team, it was announced today by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
A nutritional sciences major who carries a 3.62 grade point average and was a three-time Academic All-Big 12 Conference First Team performer, Marchesano becomes the fifth NSCAA Scholar All-American in OSU history. The Cowgirls have had a representative on the team in three-straight years and in six of the last seven.
Marchesano, a Tulsa, Okla. native, was an All-Big 12 and All-Central Region forward in her final collegiate season as she led OSU in scoring with 11 goals and three assists. She ranked fourth in the Big 12 in goals and tied for the league lead with five game-winning goals. She finished her career ranked fifth on the Cowgirls’ all-time goals list with 28 and also among the top 10 in assists (17), points (73) and shots (173).
