Highlights from the 2011 Oklahoma State Cowgirl Soccer season, where OSU won its fifth Big 12 Conference Championship and advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight for the second straight year.
2010: Was named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List ... played in just two games after suffering a season-ending knee injury against Oregon on Aug. 27 ... had an assist in the season opener against Oklahoma ... named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team for the the third time in her career ... received her undergraduate degree and was awarded an NCAA hardship waiver that allowed her to extend her five-year playing clock.
2009: Started all 24 games for the Cowgirls ... was named All-Big 12 First Team midfielder ... also named to the NSCAA All-Central Region second team ... earned a spot on the Big 12 Soccer Championship All-Tournament Team ... led OSU with 11 goals and ranked second with four assists ... led the Big 12 with seven game-winning goals ... ranked in the top 10 in the conference in goals and points (26) ... had four goals and three assists in Big 12 play, leading the team in both categories ... during OSU's eight-game winning streak late in the season she racked up seven goals and three assists ... tied an OSU record by scoring in seven-straight games (started 10/11 vs. Texas, ended 11/8 vs. Texas A&M) ... had goals against Nebraska (11/4) and Missouri (11/6) at the Big 12 Championship, both of which were game winners ... named a CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Performer of the Week for Week 11 (11/11) ... recorded both OSU goals in a 2-1 win at Texas Tech (10/16) ... earned Academic All-Big 12 First Team honors for the second-straight year ... also named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 6 third team and the NSCAA Scholar All-South Region second team.
2008: Started 17 of OSU's 23 games ... ranked fifth on the Cowgirls with six goals and 16 points ... recorded five goals, three assists and 13 points in Big 12 Conference play, ranking second on the team in each category ... eight of 16 shots in league play were on goal ... took all three of OSU's penalty kicks on the season and converted all three into goals ... named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team.
2007: Came on strong after redshirting in 2006 with a knee injury ... named to the Central Region All-Freshman team by Soccer Buzz Magazine ... played in all 23 games and earned 21 starts ... tied for third on the Cowgirls with 43 shots ... finished sixth on the squad with 12 points ... was second on the squad with six assists ... first-career goal came against Arkansas State (9/2) ... notched a goal and an assist in win over Xavier (9/7) ... recorded an assist on OSU's lone goal against Nebraska in a 1-0 Cowgirl win ... had an assist against Texas in the Big 12 Championship (11/9) ... recorded an assist on OSU's first goal against San Diego in a first-round NCAA Tournament win (11/16).
2006: Niemeier redshirted the 2006 season while recovering from a knee injury.
CLUB/PREP: Was a member of the U-19 German National Team that was the runner-up at the European Championships in Finland and won the World Championship in Thailand in 2004 ... scored one goal in 16 games for U-19 team ... scored two goals in 18 games for the U-17 team ... played club for TSV Jahn Calden, where she scored 23 goals ... also participated in mountain biking, skiing, tennis, basketball and volleyball in high school ... also considered UCLA, Utah and Colorado.
PERSONAL: Born on April 15, 1987 ... daughter of Manfred and Iris Niemeier ... mother was a 1976 Olympian in cross country skiing ... has a sister, Svenja, and a brother, Felix ... graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering in December 2010 and is currently working towards a Master's Degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering.
