STILLWATER, Okla. - Following a top-five performance at last weekend's NCAA Central Regional, OSU's Caroline Hedwall has taken over the top spot in the Golfweek/Sagarin Ratings.

Hedwall finished fourth at Otter Creek Golf Club in Columbus, Ind., to help the Cowgirls secure their 10th consecutive berth in the NCAA Championship. The finish moved Hedwall from No. 3 to the top ranking.

The Loddekopinge, Sweden native has enjoyed a remarkable spring that has seen her finish in the top four in each of her seven starts.

Hedwall has won three times, including her first two starts of the season, claiming medalist honors at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic and the Arizona Wildcat Invitational. She followed with a third-place finish at the Juli Inkster Invitational before finishing fourth at the BYU at Entrada Classic.

After tying for third place at the Ping/ASU Invitational, Hedwall ran away from the field at the Big 12 Championship, finishing eight shots clear of the field to earn her third win of the spring. Following the victory, she was named the Big 12 Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.

Overall this year, she has won four times. Hedwall opened the fall campaign with a victory at the Golfweek Conference Challenge.

Hedwall and her Cowgirl teammates will be back in action on May 18 at the NCAA Championship in Wilmington, N.C.
