WILMINGTON, N.C. - Oklahoma State's women's golf squad tallied a 292 total during the first round of play at the Landfall Tradition on Friday to hold the lead at the Country Club of Landfall's Jack Nicklaus Course.
The Cowgirls' 4-over score put them one shot clear of Duke at the par-72, 6,138-yard layout. Purdue and Texas Tech finished the day tied for third place.
Tech's Kimberly Kaufman posted an opening 67 to lead by two over OSU's Kelsey Vines. The Cowgirl senior carded a 69 to hold sole possession of second place. Vines opened with birdies on two of her first three holes before making the turn in 1-over 36. However, she logged four birdies against zero bogeys on her inward nine to get to her 3-under score.
The Cowgirls will begin their second round tomorrow at 10:10 a.m. (EST) and will be grouped with Duke and Purdue.
