LAWRENCE, Kan. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team posted a 21-over tally of 301 on Saturday at the Big 12 Championship to stand in fourth place through two rounds at Lawrence Country Club.
The Cowgirls will enter tomorrow's final round with a 56-over score of 616 and will be just one shot out of third place at the par-70, 6,038-yard layout. OSU is part of a tightly bunched quartet at the top of the leaderboard with Oklahoma leading the tournament at 608, Iowa State holding second place at 613 and Baylor checking in at 615.
Oklahoma's Chirapat Jao-Javanil carded an even-par 70 during her second round to separate from a three-way tie for first and grab a two-shot lead with a 145 total.
OSU's Jayde Panos vaulted 16 spots into a tie for fifth place at 150 after firing a 70 of her own. The sophomore made the turn at 3-over 38, but rallied with birdies at Nos. 11 and 12 and another at the closing 18th to move back to level par for the day.
Sophomore Amy Ruengmateekhun wrapped up the day alone in ninth place at 152 after posting her second consecutive 76.
Senior Jocelyn Alford rounded out the starting five with a 77 to move into a tie for 35th at 162.
The Cowgirls will begin their final round tomorrow at 8:40 a.m. and will be paired with Baylor.
