NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team came up with clutch performances down the stretch to knock off Oklahoma, 6-5, in Bedlam Cup action at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club on Sunday.
The Sooners grabbed a 2-1 lead on their home course after the morning's alternate-shot matches.
OU's Anne-Catherine Tanguay and Jackie Marshall notched a 4-and-3 victory over sophomore Josephine Janson and freshman Courtney Ferguson, while Emily Collins and Taylor Schmidt clipped sophomores Jayde Panos and Lauren Falley, 1 up.
During the afternoon singles matches, the Cowgirls picked up a pair of points from the first two matches to go out, both of which reached the 18th hole. Falley knocked off Viktoria Lager, 1 up, while Ferguson defeated Collins by the same margin.
Wood led heading to the 18th, but Staggs earned a half point after rolling in a 20-foot putt to win the closing hole and square the match.
Marshall knocked off Janson, 3 and 1, and Tanguay defeated Vines, 2 and 1, putting the Sooners back in front by a 4.5-3.5 count.
Facing a 2-down deficit with three holes left against Jao-Javanil, OSU sophomore Amy Ruengmateekhun won all three holes for a 1-up victory and a crucial full point in the team race.
Collins won the 18th hole against Cowgirl senior Jocelyn Alford to halve their match and leave the outcome in the hands of the final match on the course.
The Cowgirls will be back in action on April 27 when they travel to Lawrence, Kan., for the Big 12 Championship.
