Cowgirls In 12th At Northrop Grumman

PALOS VERDES, Calif. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team posted a 305 during its second round to stand in a tie for 12th place at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge being held at Palos Verdes Golf Club.

Through 36 holes, the Cowgirls are tied with Wake Forest at 46-over 614 at the par-71, 6,017-yard layout. Southern California leads the event at 10-over 578, while UCLA stands in second at 579.

Duke's Alejandra Cangrejo carded her second 70 in a row for a 2-under 140 total for a three-shot lead.

OSU's Kelsey Vines is one of three players tied for second at 143. The senior posted a 1-over 72 to stay within striking distance of her second consecutive victory.

Freshman Julie Yang bounced back from an opening 80 with a 73 to move into a tie for 42nd place at 153.

Junior Josephine Janson's 80 tied her for 67th place at 159, while junior Jayde Panos finished the day tied for 75th place at 162 after signing for an 80.

Sophomore Courtney Ferguson wrapped up the day tied for 79th place at 163 after turning in an 84 on Tuesday.

The Cowgirls will begin their final round tomorrow at 8 a.m. (PST) and will be grouped with Colorado, Pepperdine and Oregon.
