STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State equestrian student-athlete Leah Kuehn has been named an OSU Senior of Significance, it was announced today by the OSU Alumni Association.

Kuehn is one of 45 recipients of the 2009-10 Seniors of Significance Award, and she becomes the fourth Cowgirl equestrian student-athlete to earn the distinction, joining Jacqueline Roberts (2008), Nicole Stec (2005) and Sheila Dohmann (2004).

The Seniors of Significance Award honors those students who have excelled in scholarship, leadership and service for the OSU campus and Stillwater community. This group represents approximately the top one percent of the 2009-2010 graduating class and the heart of the OSU experience.

Kuehn, a native of Sydney, Nebraska, serves as a captain for the equestrian team. She has competed for four seasons and was the Reserve Champion in the individual reining tournament and the Varsity Equestrian National Championship in 2007.

In the classroom, Kuehn holds a 4.0 GPA and is a three-time OSU Academic Achievement award winner. She is also a six-time President's Honor Roll member at Oklahoma State.

Also actively involved on campus and in the community, Kuehn is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, OSU Ad Club and OSU Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow among many other organizations. She was the Daily O'Collegian Student Athlete of the Year in 2007-2008.

A reception acknowledging the 2009-10 Seniors of Significance will be held November 23 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center. For more information on the Seniors of Significance Award, visit orangeconnection.org/studentawards.
