Oklahoma State’s fifth-ranked equestrian team defeated the third-ranked Texas A&M Aggies, 16-8, on Saturday at the Animal-Science Arena. “ I really like how focused the team is right now,” coach Larry Sanchez said. “They are growing in confidence every day and I can see us only getting better. A&M is a very good team and I’m very proud of how we took care of business today.” Both the hunter seat and western teams put on a phenomenal show today with 4-2 victories in each discipline. The OSU hunter seat squad won 8-4, defeating the Aggies in equitation on the flat 4-2 and equitation over fences 4-2. The OSU western squad also won 8-4, defeating the Aggies in horsemanship 4-2 and reining 4-2. The Cowgirls had dominating performances all around today with MOP’s all across the board. OSU junior Sam Harrison received Most Outstanding Player in equitation of the flat with a score of 76. OSU junior Andrea Robbins received Most Outstanding Player in equitation over fences with a score of 80. OSU junior Lauren Halvorson received Most Outstanding Player in horsemanship with a score of 78.5. OSU sophomore Katy Krshka received Most Outstanding Player in reining with a score of 72. Oklahoma State will be back in action when they host Fresno State on February 16 at the Animal Science Arena.
